Melasma is a general term that refers to unwanted skin discoloration. It affects both men and women and is a very troublesome condition to correct completely.

Skin hyperpigmentation can make you feel especially self conscious. Concealing brown discoloration is generally only partially effective as it requires considerable layering of camouflage creams and makeups.

Laser technologies and topical pigment control agents are quite helpful but also require diligent sun protection during and after treatment on an ongoing basis to maintain suppression of pigment production.
